“I encourage parents to use positive reinforcement and active participation to eliminate harmful oral habits. I believe that the story booklet and the fun finger puppets can be a great tool in encouraging children to give up thumb or finger sucking in a gratifying and fun adventure. I would encourage parents to help to eliminate the oral habits in a fun and encouraging long range plan.”

“Thumbuddy to Love” by Andrea Van Ness is truly the first positive form of behavioral modification we have come across, to encourage the end of thumb sucking in children. The thumb puppets and storybook to match provide an alternative method of comfort for children, replacing the habit of sucking their thumbs. We applaud this new development and idea that avoids the use of bitter tasting medicines, adhesive bandages or cotton gloves, and uncomfortable habit breaking appliances. Thumbuddies will be a gift we are pleased to offer our little friends in our dental clinic who will enjoy taking care of them instead of thumb sucking!
